COVID-19’s Impact on Riverbrook
Like the rest of the world, the pandemic has affected Riverbrook in unexpected ways. We strive to keep our amazing women safe and yet still engaged. So, while our residents may not be out in the community helping local organizations for now, they are still interacting virtually with the residents of local long-term care facilities, playing the piano and participating in sing-alongs. They tend to the garden, gathering bouquets for their roadside flower stand, spreading joy to people in the community. Our residents’ safety is our #1 priority and comes at a cost of many thousands of dollars in just the first six months for personal protective equipment (PPE) and testing. Your donations help to continue Riverbrook’s mission to empower women with intellectual and developmental disabilities to lead enviable adult lives.
