During this pandemic masked and gloved volunteers work during the Pantry’s food distribution hours moving produce, meat in coolers, milk and pre-filled grocery bags outside onto tables under a shelter. They place items designated by shoppers into bags, and assist with crowd control to help everyone to physically distance themselves. Volunteers are expected to dress for the weather as shifts are outdoors and last for 2 hours. We pack up all food at the end of each shift. Other volunteers work behind the scenes at other times to prepare for our open hours. Others prefer to organize food drives, either regularly scheduled or occasional, or to leave donated groceries in bins outside the pantry which are emptied daily.
