We are always looking for volunteers to help with carpentry, mechanics, painting, electrical, landscaping, etc.
While we have some great volunteers, the Berkshire Food Project still has various jobs for volunteers to fill. Among the most needed are for dishwashers, food preparers, and cleaners. Give one or two hours a week or more if you wish. The BFP operates from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. Monday through Friday.
Help maintain our heirloom gardens, harvest produce, and assist with CSA distribution.
Assist with set-up/break-down, check-in, ushering, children’s activities, and parking for dinners, concerts, festivals and other special events.
Help our facilities team with simple repairs, basic landscaping, carpentry, and painting.
Assist with barn cleaning and the feeding and general care of our livestock.
Trail Maintenance: Spring jobs include trail work and general yard work such as raking leaves. These jobs require little experience and a lot of enthusiasm. The Bidwell House gardens are cared for by a head gardener, but we could always use help with weeding, pruning, etc. All levels of gardening expertise are welcome. This is a great opportunity for the novice gardener to gain experience and knowledge. Garden work takes place from April through October.
We offer a variety of programs throughout the year. Volunteers help with publicity and, on the day of the program, greet visitors; set up and break down chairs and equipment; arrange for refreshments; and, when applicable, assist with book sales for author events.
Volunteer to recruit instructors and plan classes, organize special events and trips, provide IT support, write for our newsletter, and much more!
